Eucalyptus has been very popular for weddings and we were really close to getting bored by it but combining it with burgundy really gives it another round! For several years couples have been avoiding dramatic reds and opting in for blush and other delicate colors but we are happy to see burgundy taking a some space! It was just few weeks ago that we had a burgundy men’s suit in our own photoshoot!

This wedding theme was inspired by stunning wedding stationary by Havu+Helmi. The color palette and floral style continues to the bridal bouquet and wedding table styling. Our big love right now are the grazing tables with their overwhelming amount of food all beautifully placed. It’s a perfect way to set a winter  wedding buffet or even family style dinner. We think that grazing tables create special kind of comfort to an event.

In this wedding styling the bride is wearing an easy going but dramatic two piece gown and the groom continues the color theme in his suit. This is a beautiful way to tie the look together – especially when the groom’s boutonniere is white and nods to the bride’s floral outfit.

Nordic Lakeside Wedding Photoshoot

Nordic Lakeside Wedding Photoshoot

Hello, wedding inspiration lovers! We got together with super talented local bridal entrepreneurs to create an ambient nordic wedding photoshoot. With Sirpa from Piirto Photography and Niina from Pinni & Puuteri we had a great time combining bohemian wedding style with Finnish nature and the results are breathtaking. Are you ready to scroll down and see some lakeside wedding inspiration?

Nordic style meets bohemian wedding trends

In Autumn 2019 we took our best bridal gear and went to a beautiful and serene lakeside location in Savonlinna, Eastern Finland. We all are big fans of the Finnish nature and wanted to celebrate the warm evenings with beautiful gowns, styling and cake.

Our inspiration was the autumnal color palette with grey, blue and straw. These elements can be seen all around the shoot.

If you are planning a late autumn wedding for 2020 the these are for sure going to your Pinterest board!

Rustic bouquet with dried flowers for lakeside wedding

The bouquet celebrates the late autumn with dried flowers and bleached greenery. Mostly made with nature’s flowers the bouquet combines poppy cores, yarrow and meadowsweet with bleached ruscus. The whole bouquet is tied together with generous amount of hand-dyed silk ribbon in honey color.

Natural and nautical wedding stationary

For this bridal shoot we wanted lakeside inspired wedding stationary – for us that meant soft blue with hint of golden sand and rope details. The paper is hand-dyed with ripped edges. When you have a statement paper you don’t need special illustration so we opted in for simple typography with calligraphic details. Notice how the info is tied together with white silk rope to give it sophisticated lakeside wedding vibe.

Soft and layered gown is a boho wedding classic

Relaxed and bohemian styles are in for nordic weddings which often have a little bit hygge in them. This layered wedding dress is Meira Wedding Gown from Iida’s collection for the Wedding Dress Designer of 2019 competition. Made with light swiss dot tulle Meira gown is perfect for an easy going wedding cebrated in the nature with friends.

Blueberries and fig decorate the seasonal wedding cake

We always love to go for the seasonal thing is our bridal shoots. The wedding cake is trendy and small. It’s a carrot cake filled and iced with creamcheese frosting and topped with salted caramel drip layer. The best cake decoration is something that you can eat so that’s why seasonal blueberries and figs are a perfect option. They also have lovely contrasting tones adding a little bit color to othervice soothing palette.

We can’t get enough of soft pastels – especially blush! This time we combined it with soft beige or pampa to give it more earthy vibe. The best thing about blush is that it works well in any season! In this theme you can spot different florals here and there. Dry elements in wedding bouquets – like pampa grass – are very chic at the moment and it combines beautifully with more traditional, romantic elements like roses. The wedding cake and stationery are also embellished with florals.

The bridal look and ring are both simple designs with a twist. The ring has a colored stone morganite as the eye catcher. The wedding gown presents the minimalist wedding trend – it has a sleek and simple silhouette with a detachable silk organza bow on the back.

Blush has been a huge wedding trend during the late 2010’s and it’s still going strong. We love this romantic color that can easily be styled both modern and romantic looks. This time we spiced it with some darked details in mauve.

When you do blush wedding theme it’s best to focus on the details. Like blush flowers (add some varying tones for extra depth) and stationary. If it’s a color that is really important for your personal style also then why not incorporate it to the long lasting details like your bridal jewellery. Colored stones on engagement rings and wedding bands are very popular right now and I don’t see them going out of style.  I think they are becoming a stable classic already as many vintage rings also have colored gems.

The whole wedding doesn’t need to be coded exactly tone to tone so we suggest that the bride’s and groom’s looks are kept simple with white and dark grey. Details make the look so add a splash of color with accessories and flower.

What is your favorite color theme for a wedding?

How to use fern in your wedding?

Greenery is the important part of this wedding theme and you can spot it everywhere. The details, the table, bouquet and invitation. We always say that if you want a big impact but don’t want to buy disposable stuff then your best bet is plants and candles.

Ferns are coming back big time after long rein of silvery eucalyptus in wedding bouquets and decoration. They are wonderful choice for greenery as they grow locally in almost every climate and can be found in several interesting shapes and sizes. In folklore finding a blooming fern is considered lucky, the joke is that ferns don’t bloom nor they produce seeds in real life.

For woodland weddings ferns are absolutely perfect, but they look equally stunning in minimalist or classic wedding styles. Use ferns en masse to create lush green forms or as singular statement leaves to really bring out their interesting shape.

Fern Wedding Inspiration – where to focus

The obvious place to use ferns is that bridal bouquet and table setting and in this styling you can see them with and without other flowers – both looking great! You could also try mixing different kinds of ferns.

The wedding cake can also be decorated with ferns, and why not using the plant in the stationary you need at the venue? For invitations we recommend going with illustration because the plant doesn’t keep well in an envelope.

The bridal couple can easily incorporate fern in their looks. For a simple bridal style add a fern like hair accessory. The groom can wear the theme foliage as a boutonniere.

This is only one example of ferns in wedding decor, so don’t be afraid to use your imagination!
