Garden pansies and violets come in many colors: classic blues, violets, white, yellows, reds and black. Use your own taste to pick the combination that you love. They are cold hardy flowers and are readily available at early spring and late fall. Because of that they make great seasonal blooms for spring weddings and are also budget friendly. Pansies and violets are full of symbolism and as author Dorothea Lynde Dix has said:

“Perhaps no flower (not excepting even the queenly rose) claims to be so universal a favorite, as the viola tricolor; none currently has been honored with so rich a variety of names, at once expressive of grace, delicacy and tenderness.”

Pansy wedding is great for DIY bride, because pansies can be used in several different ways. Use potted violets and pansies as replantable table decor or give them away as favors. Pansies are edible flowers, thus they make excellent cake or salad decorations. They are also easy to press, so if you’re crafty person you can use them in table number cards for example. Pansies are also pretty easy to grow from seeds and if you plant them in January or February, you can expect first flowers around April.
